AI for Social Good (Teacher's Guide V.1)
This teacher's guidebook is designed to accompany the “AI for Social Good” textbook and workbook. The textbook aims to educate and inspire young people globally about how artificial intelligence can address social challenges such as environmental protection and the preservation of endangered species through practical examples.
This guidebook includes detailed instructions on course content delivery, conducting activities, and facilitating discussions and evaluations to enhance participants' understanding and engagement. While the workbook activities are primarily structured, this guidebook provides additional guidance that instructors can use to supplement and enrich their lessons.
The textbook/workbook, and guidebook are designed to be used together, offering a comprehensive educational tool that is as useful in classrooms as it is for parents at home.
By integrating this guidebook with the “AI for Social Good” textbook in schools, clubs, and home learning environments, we aim to empower future generations to leverage AI for a greater social impact. (Published in 2024)
About the Authors
This book was developed by the AI4SG team at CGSI, a consultancy specializing in sustainability and innovation, with collaborative input from the LISMA Education and Development team, an American artificial intelligence enterprise. CGSI and LISMA are actively engaged in a variety of initiatives aimed at addressing social issues and enhancing social value through AI. These include educational campaigns, workshops, AI-focused summer camps (ai4sgcamp.org), and the development and distribution of educational materials.
